Southern Hills Academy offers a challenging, integrated curriculum that develops strong basic academic skills and innovative thinking. We extend learning opportunities so that students may utilize their knowledge and learn to manage themselves in the world. Our curriculum develops the whole child - intellectually, emotionally, socially, morally and physically - in a well-rounded way. Our goal is to nurture students to become self-confident persons who take initiative. Our teaching practices are based on current educational research.

The philosophy of Southern Hills Academy requires parents' involvement in their children's education and in the school community. This involvement capitalizes on local resources and persons to enhance and extend student learning opportunities. The educational environment, then, is broadened by field trips, guest speakers and community service projects which heighten student awareness and curiosity.

Our teachers, who have been recruited nationally, are dedicated to providing a dynamic education for students. The teachers work collaboratively to create a learning environment which is energetic, thought-provoking and stimulating. Students are asked to demonstrate and document their learning. The Southern Hills Academy community values the expertise and experiences that our state licensed teachers bring to the students. Southern Hills Academy is an accredited independent Ohio non-public school, licensed for Preschool through Grade 12 students by the Ohio Department of Education. It is an Associate member of the Independent Schools Association of the Central States (ISACS) and the Ohio Association of Independent Schools (OAIS).
